Cleaning Operatives (4 Positions) – Museum / Visitor Attraction
Location: Knightsbridge, Central London
Part-Time | Shared Rotating Shift Pattern | Approx. 18 Hours Per Week Average
We are seeking four professional, reliable, and detail-focused Cleaning Operatives to join our team at a prestigious museum / visitor attraction in Knightsbridge, Central London, adjacent to Harrods.
These are part-time positions working on a shared rotating rota, with hours distributed fairly across the team. Average contracted hours will be approximately 18 hours per week per operative, averaged over the monthly rota.
Shift Pattern
Weekend Day Cleaning (Museum Open to Visitors)
Saturday & Sunday
11:30am – 7:30pm
1 operative required per shift
The daytime operative will maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards throughout public opening hours.
Evening / Night Cleaning (Museum Closed)
Monday to Sunday
10:00pm onwards until 1am or 2am
2 operatives required each evening
Daytime Cleaning Duties (While Museum is Open)
- Maintaining exceptional presentation standards throughout visitor hours
- Cleaning exhibition and attraction areas
- Public toilets and washroom facilities
- Communal visitor halls and walkways
- Stairwells and circulation routes
- Staff rooms and back-of-house areas
- Spot cleaning and touchpoint sanitisation
- Waste collection and disposal
- Replenishment of consumables
- Responding promptly to cleaning requirements during opening hours
Evening / Night Cleaning Duties (While Museum is Closed)
- Deep cleaning across all museum and attraction spaces
- Thorough washroom sanitisation
- Vacuuming, mopping, floor detailing, and dusting
- Deep cleaning of communal halls, stairways, staff facilities, and back-of-house areas
- Waste management and replenishment
- Reporting maintenance defects, health & safety issues, or operational concerns
- Locking up where required
- Reporting completion to the onsite concierge
Candidate Requirements
- Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Flexible to work a rotating mix of daytime and evening/night shifts
- Comfortable with secure lock-up responsibilities where required
- Right to work in the UK
Pay: Up to £14.71 per hour
