We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating large heavy goods vehicles, primarily focusing on temprature Controlled deliveries across various locations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. Your expertise will help keep our supply chain moving smoothly, supporting our commitment to excellent service delivery.
Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including temperature controlled trailers
- compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Load and unload goods efficiently, paying close attention to securement procedures
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, including delivery notes, logs, and vehicle records
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding schedule updates or any operational issues
- Adhere to all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation regulations
- Comply with all customs paperwork this will all be shown and is very simple to do
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, specifically with fridge trailers preferred
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of transportation safety standards and regulations governing commercial vehicles
- Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading/unloading cargo on fridge trailers
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
