Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 3.5-ton recovery driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries and recoveries. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and mechanical knowledge to handle various recovery situations. Responsibilities
- Operate 3.5-ton flatbed lorries for vehicle recovery and transportation purposes
- Safely load, secure, and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness
- Assist with vehicle recoveries, including roadside assistance and accident recoveries
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, recoveries, and vehicle movements
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding schedules and issues
- Follow all health and safety regulations during operations to minimise risks
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with 3.5-ton flatbed or similar vehicles
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of route planning and time management
- Mechanical knowledge advantageous for basic troubleshooting and vehicle maintenance
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience is beneficial but not essential
- Demonstrable communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in vehicle recovery or roadside assistance is desirable but not mandatory
