Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at using both hand and power tools. Experience in fault finding and Diagnostics is a must for this position. Working well as an individual aswel as in a team plays a big part of our day to day process.
Staff will have access to Training days throughout the year. to improve and expand knowledge and understanding within different areas.
We Carry out MOT tests on Class 4 and 7. additionally we also inspect Class 2 and 3 but not required. a qualified MOT tester is a bonus but not a must. Any level 3 qualified technician can be assisted in obtain their MOT testing Status if Required.
Duties
- Conduct thorough Servicing and Visual inspections on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and adjustments as necessary.
- Perform heavy lifting when required, particularly when handling vehicle components or equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of tests conducted and any repairs made, adhering to company protocols.
- Communicate findings to customers clearly and professionally, providing recommendations for any necessary work.
- Keep the testing area clean and organised, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Inspecting Fleet vehicles in addition to Servicing and MOTS on their basic Fleet inspection schedule.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of the role.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not essential; training may be provided for the right candidate.
- A full driving licence is required to operate various vehicles during testing procedures.
