Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Day Care Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for our day care attendees. Your enthusiasm and communication skills will help foster positive experiences and support the well-being of individuals in our care. You will be working 9am - 3pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist adults during daily activities, ensuring safety at all times
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with families or guardians
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues, clients, and families regarding progress and needs
- Administering medication via PEG and supporting with personal care
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment in accordance with health standards
- Support individuals with mobility or other special needs using appropriate techniques and equipment, such as hoists
- Document daily observations, activities, and any incidents accurately in recordsRequirements
- Previous experience working in a care setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
- Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting clients
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow prescribed procedures precisely
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring, patient approach
