We are looking for an experienced EC&I Project Engineer or early-career Project Manager to take ownership of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation projects across the utilities, industrial and hazardous-area sectors.
The position would suit someone who has already gained meaningful project delivery experience and is ready to operate with greater independence and autonomy. You may currently be a Project Engineer, Lead Engineer or early in your Project Management career and want to develop into a confident, standalone Project Manager.
This is a hands-on project delivery role with responsibility for coordinating projects from enquiry through to completion. You will manage clients, programmes, costs, suppliers, subcontractors and site activities, with support from our technical and senior management teams when required.
You will be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of EC&I projects from enquiry and planning through to completion
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery plans
- Coordinating internal engineering resources, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Acting as a principal point of contact for clients throughout project delivery
- Chairing or contributing to project, design and progress meetings
- Monitoring costs, progress, risks, variations and commercial performance
- Reviewing technical requirements and coordinating engineering deliverables
- Producing project documentation, progress reports and client communications
- Planning and overseeing installation, commissioning, handover and project close-out
- Identifying and resolving technical, commercial and programme issues
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
- Building effective long-term relationships with clients and supply-chain partners
You will ideally have:
- Experience delivering or coordinating electrical, control and instrumentation projects
- Experience as a Project Engineer, Lead Engineer or early-career Project Manager
- The confidence to take ownership of projects and make informed delivery decisions
- Experience managing clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site activities
- An understanding of project programmes, costs, risks and commercial considerations
- Experience in the utilities, industrial, energy, manufacturing or process sectors
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative approach and willingness to adopt our established working practices
- Competence using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
An HNC, HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Project and work in hazardous areas would be advantageous.
