Overview
Alice House Hospice is looking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Trust and Grant Funding Officer to facilitate funding applications, provide detailed reporting and manage relationships with funders.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an effective and proactive approach to managing the various demands of the role and an understanding of the charity sector, as well being able to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and IT skills.
The role is based within Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool, although hybrid working may be reviewed.
Applicants may be invited for a formal interview, which will include a written exercise.
Duties
Proactively research and pursue new funding opportunities from charitable trusts, grant funders and other organisations.
Manage and maintain relationships with existing funders, ensuring compliance with grant conditions and deliver high quality, timely reports to funders.
Build and develop relationships with new and prospective funders.
Engage with relevant networks, forums and resources to identify new funding opportunities and maintain up-to-date sector knowledge.
Ensure up-to-date organisational knowledge, to foster an understanding of current needs and projects, to match these requirements to the appropriate funder.
Maintain detailed and accurate records to ensure effective budget management and regular reporting to Senior Management and Trustees.
Collaborate with CEOs and members of Senior Management Team on tenders, reports and applications as required.
Collaborate with Hospice Communications Team to develop PR and online content regarding trust and grant stories.
Occasional face-to-face meetings with funders or attending external funders events.
Person Specification
- Experience and understanding of income generation, partnership development and fundraising principles.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to identify funding opportunities.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Ability to write persuasively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – high level of literacy required, alongside the ability to present complex information in an accessible and engaging format.
