Are you organised, proactive, and passionate about making sure the right equipment is in the right place at the right time? Behind every successful first aid event, community response, ambulance shift, and training session is an effective operational support team.
As the Network Operational Support (Logistics) Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring that equipment, medicines, and operational assets are safe, compliant, and ready for use. Your work will directly support St John Ambulance in delivering Community First Aid, Event Medical Services, Urgent & Emergency Care, and volunteer training across the network.
As the Network Operational Support Lead, you will:
- Carry out regular stock checks of consumables across the network, maintaining agreed stock levels.
- Ensure operational equipment is stored, maintained, deployed, and serviced in accordance with St John Ambulance procedures and manufacturers' guidance.
- Oversee the safe storage, checking, and deployment of medicines in line with St John Ambulance policies.
- Mentor, support, and develop volunteers delivering operational support activities.
- Coordinate the allocation of operational support tasks, equipment, and other assets to meet local operational needs.
- Work collaboratively with neighbouring networks to share equipment and resources when required.
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers using the ProCloud Asset Management System.
We're looking for someone who has:
- The ability to lead and motivate small teams of volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues across different functions.
- Good data literacy skills, including the ability to interpret and communicate information effectively.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
