Based at Babipur in Porthmadog.
Babipur is an independent family business, established in 2007. We create original content using real products, real photography and information gathered directly from our staff, customers, brands and suppliers.
We’re looking for a capable content and ecommerce coordinator to help create, organise and publish content across our website, newsletters and social channels.
You may have less experience than a senior ecommerce specialist, but you must already write well, understand digital content and be able to complete everyday work without constant supervision.
The role
You’ll handle products, compare them and learn from the Babipur staff who buy, photograph, pack and answer questions about them.
Your work will include:
● Researching products and brands
● Writing original product descriptions
● Adding and updating products in Shopify
● Creating and improving collections
● Using tags, filters, internal links and image information correctly
● Writing and uploading guides, comparisons, interviews and Q&As
● Preparing and building customer newsletters
● Turning website content into suitable social-media posts
● Carrying out practical SEO research and improvements
● Checking links, information, spelling and images
● Updating older content when information changes
● Using customer questions and search behaviour to identify missing content
You’ll speak with staff, brands and suppliers to gather information and help Babipur provide customers with more than a standard product listing.
You should understand that website content, search engines, newsletters, social media, customer care and sales are connected. You’ll be interested in what customers want to know and how useful information can help them choose confidently.
You’ll need excellent written English, strong attention to detail and some practical experience of Shopify or another ecommerce platform, SEO, email marketing or social content.
This role may suit somebody developing their ecommerce career or moving from a related area. It won’t suit somebody who copies supplier descriptions, relies on AI to do their thinking and writing or needs every task broken into individual steps.
