About Us
Young Engineers Birmingham delivers fun, hands-on STEM and engineering classes for children aged 6–12 using building models, simple machines, and coding concepts. Our sessions are creative, structured, and designed to build confidence and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment.
Due to growing demand, we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable instructor to join our team.
You must be available on weekend and after school hours. Must be flexible for both locations Harborne and Sutton Coldfield
The Role
You will support and deliver small group STEM classes where children build mechanical and robotic models using LEGO-compatible kits and learn basic engineering and coding concepts.
Full training will be provided, so no prior teaching experience is required — just the right attitude and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fun and engaging weekly STEM sessions for children aged 6–12
- Support children in building models and understanding concepts
- Help set up and pack away equipment
- Create a positive, encouraging learning environment
- Work alongside our existing instructor/team
Who We’re Looking For
- Enjoys working with children
- Friendly, patient and confident
- Interest in STEM, engineering, LEGO, robotics or education
- Reliable and punctual
- Must be able to travel to both Harborne and Sutton Coldfield (driver preferred)
- Available on weekends (with potential for more hours as we grow)
- Enhanced DBS
