In this dynamic role, you'll be the face of our parlour, ensuring smooth daily operations while delivering exceptional service. As a key holder, you'll support the management team with opening and closing the premises, uphold food safety standards, and create a welcoming environment that keeps customers coming back for more. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your hospitality skills while working in a lively, fast-paced setting. Candidates must be 18+ due to the nature of cashing up and closing the premises at the end of the night.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service to enhance their gelato experience
- Assist with food preparation and ensure all products meet quality standards and food safety regulations
- Operate the till, handle transactions accurately, and promote upselling of featured flavours or products such as flakes and toppings
- Support opening and closing procedures, including cashing up and securing the premises at night
- This role will involve working on average three evenings per week, including weekends
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the parlour, including back of house prep areas
- Address customer enquiries or concerns promptly, turning every interaction into a positive experience
Experience
- Previous experience in customer service, food preparation or restaurant service is highly preferred
- Familiarity with food safety standards
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory counts are essential
- Kitchen or culinary experience will be advantageous for supporting food prep tasks
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to upsell products confidently to boost sales and enhance customer satisfaction
