We are recruiting a skilled and proactive Fabric Engineer to join our Maintenance Team for APML Estate, which own, manage and operate a mixture of commercial and residential properties across London and the Southeast.
This role has a strong focus on building fabric repairs and general property maintenance, ensuring our properties are kept safe, functional, and presented to a high standard at all times.
As Fabric Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of internal and external fabric maintenance tasks, including repairs, decorating, minor carpentry, basic plumbing, and general upkeep. Working as part of a dedicated maintenance team, you will support both planned preventative maintenance programmes and reactive repairs, helping to maintain the quality and appearance of our buildings while delivering excellent service to our residents, tenants and colleagues.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on individual who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and enjoys a varied role where no two days are the same.
The role is based in Courtfield Road, London SW7, reports to a Maintenance Supervisor, and the shifts are predominately Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The duties are across a variety of locations predominantly in Southwest London which can be commuted to by foot or public transport.
As Fabric Engineer, some of your duties will include…………
- Painting and decorating in a variety of properties
- Basic maintenance duties, i.e. putting up pictures, changing lamps, changing locks
- Basic plumbing duties as required i.e. changing washers, ball valves, isolation valves
- To conduct water treatment tasks, checks and logs
- To carry out meter readings (gas, electricity, water)
- Assisting the Maintenance Engineers with task as required
We would love to hear from you if ………..
- Have experience in general building maintenance in a commercial or residential setting
- Have experience in painting and decorating in a professional setting including surface preparation, painting and mastic application
- Have basic plumbing skills
- Have basic computer skills with the ability to use outlook, building maintenance system for reporting and completing maintenance tasks
- Enjoy a variety of tasks and are happy to pitch in when needed
- Possess good communication skills to communicate with residents, tenants, contractors and clients.
