Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for delivering exceptional care? Quinton House & Gardens, part of Holmwood Care Group, is looking for an experienced Registered Home Manager to lead our team following the retirement of our current manager after fifty years in nursing. The role is supported by 2 Deputy Managers, a clinical lead, alongside 2 senior administrators and an in house activities, facilities, housekeeping and catering teams.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a well-established home with deep roots in its community and to make it your own.
The home
Quinton House & Gardens is a CQC-registered residential and nursing home with specialist dementia units, set in stunning gardens in the beautiful surroundings of Lower Quinton, a short drive from Stratford-upon-Avon. It is a home with real character: large, light, well-established and genuinely part of village life.
We are more than just a care home - we are a family. Every member of the team plays a part in creating a warm, welcoming and homely environment for our residents.
You won’t be running it alone
This is the part most adverts skip over, so we will be direct about it.
A peer group, not an island. You will join an established group of Registered Managers across our homes who meet regularly, share what is working and pick up the phone to each other. Managing a care home can be a lonely job. Here, it is not.
A central senior leadership team that actually does things. Operations, care quality and compliance, recruitment and workforce, facilities and estates, finance, administration and marketing all sit centrally, and are there to take work off your desk rather than add to it. When the boiler fails, when a rota falls apart, when a commissioner asks a hard question, you have people to call.
Governance you can lean on. We have invested heavily in our assurance framework - audit cycles, quality oversight, incident review and learning, and policy management. We will also be honest with you: we are still improving it, and we want a manager who will tell us where it falls short. Candour is a requirement of the job here, not a risk to your career.
Digital by default. Our homes run on digital care planning, electronic rostering and workforce systems, digital policy and quality management, e-learning and applicant tracking. Confidence with IT systems - and ideally prior experience of digital care records and rostering platforms - will make your first few months considerably easier, and is a real advantage in this role.
A group that is growing
Holmwood Care Group is a family-run provider that has grown substantially and continues to do so. For the right person, that matters: growth creates genuine opportunity.
Managers here are invited into group-wide work - quality initiatives, service improvement, integration projects and mentoring new managers - and we have a clear preference for developing and promoting our own people rather than recruiting over them. Tell us where you want to be in five years and we will take it seriously.
The role
-
Provide effective leadership across all departments - care, nursing, administration, housekeeping, catering and maintenance - with a visible and approachable presence in the home.
-
Ensure full compliance with CQC regulation, the Health and Social Care Act, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS, medicines governance, and health and safety.
-
Lead and develop the team: recruitment, retention, supervision, appraisal and training, including specialist dementia and clinical competencies.
-
Manage budgets, resources, occupancy and agency use in line with financial and operational targets.
-
Develop, implement and review personalised care plans that are genuinely individual, regularly reviewed and clinically sound.
-
Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring safety and adherence to protocol.
-
Build strong relationships with residents, families, commissioners, GPs, healthcare professionals and community partners.
-
Lead audit, quality monitoring, data returns and improvement planning — accurately and within deadlines.
-
Champion local marketing and community engagement so the home remains full and well regarded.
-
Promote a culture of openness, quality and continuous improvement throughout the home.
What we are looking for
-
Proven experience as a Registered Manager, or in a senior leadership role within a care or nursing home.
-
Excellent understanding of CQC regulation, clinical governance and the Health and Social Care Act.
-
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or working towards it.
-
Leadership that motivates rather than manages - with the resilience to hold standards.
-
Financial acumen and experience of managing budgets effectively.
-
IT literacy, with experience of digital care and workforce systems (advantageous).
-
A person-centred approach with genuine compassion and commitment to quality care. This is not a box to tick.
-
Excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, families and external agencies.
-
Nursing qualification and current NMC registration
Why join us
-
A respected, family-run care group where integrity, compassion and teamwork are the working culture, not a poster in the corridor.
-
Peer support from fellow Registered Managers, and a central team invested in your success.
-
Genuine opportunities for professional growth, group-wide involvement, training and leadership development.
-
A clear promote-from-within culture - we would rather grow talent than buy it in.
-
Competitive pay and recognition for your contribution.
-
A rewarding leadership role where you can shape positive outcomes and create a truly homely environment.
