Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Tutor to provide specialised training and mentorship within the construction industry. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, support learners in developing practical skills, and foster a positive learning environment. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive tutoring sessions in construction-related topics, including plumbing, organisational skills, and IT applications relevant to the trade
- Develop customised lesson plans tailored to individual learner needs and industry standards
- Assess learner progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Facilitate practical demonstrations and hands-on activities to enhance understanding of technical skills
- Maintain organised records of attendance, progress, and assessments for each learner
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building
- Stay updated with current industry practices and incorporate new techniques into teaching materials
- Communicate effectively with learners, colleagues, and industry partners to ensure programme success
Skills
- Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills for clear instruction and feedback
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, construction processes, and related trades
- Experience in teaching or tutoring within a technical or vocational setting is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills to plan lessons and manage learner records efficiently
- Good IT skills for preparing digital resources and utilising online learning platforms
- Outstanding communication skills to engage learners of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Ability to motivate students, foster a supportive environment, and adapt teaching methods as needed
- CV, CPD, certificates held within construction – feel free to include any training experience or courses attending – if both the CV and CPD could include recent work experience this would be helpful
- A copy of the Tutor/Assessor Award depending on which role they are undertaking.
