We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Damper Testing Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive testing and inspection of fire dampers according to industry standards and schematics, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Diagnose issues with damper equipment, performing repairs or recommending replacements to maintain optimal functionality.
- Review technical schematics, blueprints, and construction documents to accurately assess damper installation and performance requirements.
- Lead testing procedures on-site at various facilities, coordinating with contractors and maintenance teams to schedule inspections efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of testing results, repair activities, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members during testing operations and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure timely completion of testing projects while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Ductwork fitting is desirable but not essential
- Proven leadership skills with experience guiding teams or supervising maintenance activities.
- Skilled in equipment repair, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on HVAC-related components.
- Familiarity with air conditioning systems and their integration within building safety infrastructure.
- Experience in construction environments or building maintenance projects involving fire protection systems.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Essential:
Full UK drivers’ licence
Previous experience in fire damper drop testing under BS9999 standards
Previous experience in ventilation hygiene assessment
Security clearances is desirable but for the successful candidate application will be made.
