Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our busy practice team at Spilsby Surgery on a part-time basis.
This is an important patient-facing role, and we are looking for someone who can help put patients at ease whilst providing safe and efficient blood collection services. The successful applicant will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to support the smooth running of clinics and ensure patients receive a high standard of care.
A recognised phlebotomy qualification and previous phlebotomy experience are essential.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Ensure patient comfort and provide clear instructions throughout the procedure
- Label and handle specimens accurately to prevent contamination or mix-ups
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards within clinical areas
- Record patient information and sample details accurately in electronic health records
- Follow health and safety procedures to minimise risk of infection or injury
Requirements
- Excellent patient care and communication skills, including effective spoken and written communication for patient interaction and accurate documentation
- Basic IT skills for managing electronic records and data entry tasks
- Ability to work accurately under pressure whilst maintaining a compassionate approach towards patients
- Organised with excellent attention to detail to ensure specimen integrity and compliance with protocols
- Professional, reliable and able to work well as part of a team
