Grub Café Team Members Wanted!
Main locations: Spital, Schoolhill, Aberdeen Science Centre

It’s student season, and Grub is looking for brilliant new people to join our café teams across Aberdeen, mainly at Spital in Old Aberdeen and Schoolhill in the city centre.
We serve fresh food, great coffee and good chat without the corporate café nonsense. Our sites are fast-paced, takeaway-focused and packed with students, locals and regulars who know exactly what they want—usually five minutes ago.
We’re looking for friendly, energetic and dependable people who are happy to get stuck into everything. One minute you’ll be making coffees, the next you’ll be preparing food, serving a queue or restocking the fridge before the lunch rush lands.
It’s busy, sociable and definitely not a job where you’ll spend the shift watching the clock.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Making coffees and other drinks
- Preparing fresh food and customer orders
- Serving customers quickly and cheerfully
- Taking payments and operating the till
- Keeping the café clean, stocked and organised
- Supporting your teammates during busy periods
- Learning regular customers’ orders—and possibly their entire life stories
- Working across our Grub locations when required, mainly Spital and Schoolhill
Who We’re Looking For
You could be a great fit for Grub if you:
- Are friendly, positive and comfortable talking to customers
- Can stay calm when a queue appears out of nowhere
- Are reliable and turn up when you say you will
- Work well as part of a team
- Are willing to help with everything, including cleaning
- Can work quickly without letting standards slip
- Have café, barista or food-preparation experience—or are keen to learn
Experience is helpful, but a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter just as much. Training can be provided for the right people.
Availability
We have opportunities across the Grub team, with most shifts based at Spital and Schoolhill.
We’re particularly interested in people who have:
- Monday-to-Friday availability
- Availability around their college or university timetable
- Flexibility to work at either Spital or Schoolhill
- Availability during university and school holidays
