Pronto Locksmiths & Security is looking for an experienced key cutter to operate our mobile key-cutting service, assist with general locksmith work and help us develop new trade customers.
Commercial key-cutting experience is essential. You must already be able to identify common key blanks and use key-cutting machinery accurately. We will introduce you to our particular machines and procedures, but we cannot teach basic key cutting from scratch.
This is not a pure sales role, but an important part of the job is helping to grow the mobile key-cutting service. When you are not attending jobs, you will visit and follow up estate agents, property managers and other local businesses, explain the service and work towards building regular customers.
Main duties:
- Cut household and commercial keys accurately.
- Operate and look after the mobile key-cutting van, machinery and stock.
- Assist with residential and commercial locksmith jobs.
- Develop broader locksmith skills and gradually undertake suitable jobs independently.
- Approach potential trade customers and follow up leads.
- Keep straightforward records of customer visits and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Proven commercial key-cutting experience.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Practical and comfortable using tools.
- Confident speaking to customers and approaching businesses.
- Able to commute reliably to our N16 base.
Hours and base:
- Monday to Thursday: 10am–6pm
- Friday: 10am–2pm
- One-hour unpaid break Monday to Thursday
- 32 paid hours per week
Every working day starts and finishes at our N16 base. You must arrange your own travel to and from N16. The company van is collected at the start of the shift and returned at the end. It cannot be taken home or used for personal travel.
Pay:
- £25,000 during the three-month probation period.
- Rising to £27,000 after successful completion of probation.
- Additional performance bonus based on paid sales you generate.
This could suit someone currently working in a key-cutting shop, locksmith counter or similar business who wants to move into a broader field-based role.
