We are seeking a dedicated and proactive experienced Legal Secretary to join our Family Department, a dynamic team committed to providing exceptional legal support in family law matters. Main Purpose of Job
The prime role of the legal secretary is to provide direct support to the fee earner or department to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities given below.
Main Responsibilities (this list is non-exhaustive)
Main Tasks: List of areas of responsibilities
· Audio and copy typing;
· Extensive formatting legal documents/correspondence;
· Correspondence and diary management for those you are supporting;
· Preparation of documents for court;
· Managing all filing and legal documents to be prepared for storage;
· Assisting lawyers with all administration;
· Minute taking;
· Ensuring the files remain compliant in terms of the file maintenance and form filling;
· Arranging and booking meetings; Either by direct face to face contact with clients or telephone.
· Excellent telephone manner – first time contact for Family clients can be upsetting
· Upward management of the fee earners to ensure deadlines, key dates, and meetings are not missed;
· Preparing posting slips for financial activity on the client files;
· Invoicing the clients with supervision and guidance;

Knowledge, skills and experience required
· Excellent organisational and time management skills;
· At least 1 year experience working within legal administration;
· Excellent keyboard skills, be computer literate and have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (word, excel, outlook etc);
· Strong oral and written communication skills;
· Ability to work on your own initiative;
· Attention to detail;
· Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads;
· Good client care skills;
· A flexible approach with the ability to adjust to different requirements as priorities change;
· Excellent communication skills with a good confident telephone manner and the ability to deal with clients and staff at all levels;
· Excellent attention to detail;
· Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude.
