Naggyburn is a social enterprise of Access Employment Limited (AEL), that provides support services, work experience, and training opportunities for individuals with additional support needs, learning disabilities, health conditions, and those experiencing social disadvantage.

The Role
As our Retail Operations Co-ordinator, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of both our retail store and online presence.
This role involves working alongside and supporting our trainees, helping to create a positive, encouraging environment where they can build confidence, develop workplace skills, and gain valuable experience. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are therefore essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming experience for every customer.
- Operate the till and confidently assist customers with purchases and enquiries.
- Create attractive in-store displays, signage, and promotional material.
- Maintain and update point-of-sale systems and back-office administration.
- Manage and update our Shopify website, including products, pricing and content.
- Assist with Facebook and other social media platforms, helping to promote the business online.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other software packages to support daily business operations.
- Maintain excellent merchandising standards throughout the store.
- Assist with stock control, ordering and general retail operations.
- Support seasonal promotions, events and marketing activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and trainees to ensure the business operates efficiently and professionally.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute ideas to help the business continue to grow.
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dependable and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
You'll ideally have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A high standard of written English.
- Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence using computers and web-based systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Shopify, Facebook and other online platforms, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A friendly, positive and approachable personality.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to encourage and support people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- The ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
- A proactive attitude with the confidence to use your own initiative.
- Pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining high standards.
Experience
Essential
- Previous retail experience.
- Experience providing excellent face-to-face customer service.
- Confidence using computer systems in a busy retail environment.
Desirable
- Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
- Experience creating social media content or updating business Facebook pages.
- Experience in merchandising or visual display.
- Experience working with people with additional support needs or in an inclusive environment (desirable but not essential).

- Part-time (12–15 hours per week).
- Five days per week.
- Rota Saturdays and Bank Holidays are required.
