The Role
The E-commerce Retail Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the company’s online retail operations, ensuring smooth business processes, driving sales growth and improving the overall customer experience across our e-commerce platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the company’s e-commerce platforms and online retail channels.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve online sales performance and business profitability.
- Monitor sales trends, analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare operational reports for management.
- Oversee product listings, pricing accuracy, promotions and online merchandising.
- Coordinate inventory management and supplier relationships to ensure product availability.
- Manage order processing and ensure efficient fulfilment and delivery operations.
- Develop initiatives to improve customer acquisition, retention and overall customer satisfaction.
- Monitor customer feedback and resolve operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Work closely with marketing activities to optimise product visibility and increase online traffic.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, UK consumer legislation and e-commerce platform requirements.
- Support the business in achieving its commercial objectives and long-term growth plans.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Management, Retail Management, Marketing, E-commerce or a related discipline.
- Previous experience managing e-commerce or online retail operations.
- Strong understanding of online marketplaces and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience analysing sales data and using business insights to improve commercial performance.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of inventory management and online retail operations.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with Shopify, eBay or other online marketplace platforms.
- Understanding of digital marketing and online customer acquisition strategies.
- Knowledge of e-commerce analytics and performance reporting.
- Experience in supplier relationship management.
- Familiarity with UK retail compliance and consumer protection regulations.
