Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Doncaster. This role primarily involves fabricating and installing handrails on-site at residential properties, with additional work at distribution centres welding / repairing fork trucks and in our workshop. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently once trained. You can find out more about what we do at www.pureweld.uk
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install handrails on-site using the electric pipe bender, battery-powered tools, digging holes and using post mix.
- Be customer friendly - You will speak to homeowners and clients daily when arriving at their house to carry out the work. Good personal skills are essential to communicate clearly with the clients.
- Accurately measure and calculate angles to ensure a precise fit for handrails and other fabrications.
- Perform on-site repairs and welding at distribution centres, including fixing machinery and equipment.
- Manufacture and assemble parts in the workshop using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Operate stick welding equipment as needed.
- Painting handrails once installed.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets company standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment, have an understanding of RAMS and adhere to health and safety regulations.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Essential:
- Common sense, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong understanding of accurate measurements and calculations (basic math skills).
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently once trained.
- A full UK driving license.
- Experience in MMA and Mig welding & fabrication.
Pay Structure & Incentives
- Base Hourly Rate: £13/hour. - Pay is increased very much with the bonus scheme.
- Healthy Bonus System: Earn bonus for every completed job, providing an incentive to work efficiently and complete tasks.
- Flexibility: The more jobs you complete, the more you get paid. This structure rewards productivity and efficiency. 3 or 4 day work-weeks can be accomodated if the workflow allows. Ideal for people with child care or other responsabilites.
- Hours: Working hours can be very flexible and altered to suit your requirements. Typically 08:30 - 15:30. (There is no weekend or nights work)
