ABOUT MILLER KNIGHT
Miller Knight is a proudly independent, family-owned lifestyle financial planning firm, established in 2001.
Our aim is to be the best company our clients interact with in their lives.
We exist to change people’s lives for the better. To give money meaning and hold people to account in achieving the future life they’ve described.
For us, financial planning is about much more than pensions and investment. It’s about helping people use their money to create the life they want.
The Miller Knight community is central to everything we do, from our client advisory board to our monthly walks.
We practice what we preach and have already successfully delivered our own internal succession plan, securing the future of the business as independent for decades to come.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Paraplanner to work alongside our Financial Planner, taking ownership of the research, analysis and preparation that sit behind clear, compliant and completely brilliant financial plans.
This is a key role within our planning team and would suit an experienced Paraplanner who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to be part of something meaningful.
Quite simply, we are looking for someone who loves the detail but never loses sight of the person behind the plan.
We want someone who takes real ownership of their work, cares about the outcome for the client and is always looking for the best way to help bring their plans to life.
THE ROLE
· Working closely with our Financial Planner to produce engaging and informative financial planning reports that reflect each client’s individual circumstances, goals and aspirations
· Building strong client relationships and acting as a friendly, professional secondary point of contact
· Preparing and coordinating documentation, including suitability letters, Voyant cash-flow forecasts and portfolio reviews
· Undertaking research and due diligence on products, platforms, investments and providers
· Identifying planning opportunities, carrying out technical calculations and considering asset allocation in relation to risk profiles and lifetime cash flows
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who:
· Has at least three years’ experience working as a Paraplanner
· Hold as a minimum, either the Level 4 Certificate in Paraplanning or the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
· Has excellent technical knowledge of financial services products and financial planning
· Understands technical financial planning and financial modelling tools such as Voyant
· Is highly organised, methodical, analytical and disciplined
· Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
· Can turn complex technical information into a clear and understandable format for clients
· Is highly numerate and confident carrying out technical calculations
· Has excellent attention to detail
· Shows initiative and takes personal responsibility for completing tasks
· Can work effectively within defined business processes
· Can prioritise and manage their own workload, including working to deadlines when required
· Can achieve agreed outcomes without supervision
· Has a positive, collaborative approach and is willing to support colleagues when needed
Further qualifications such as J01 Taxation, J02 Trusts, Pension Transfer Specialist, Chartered or Certified Financial Planner status would be welcomed, but are not essential.
