Are you a strategic finance professional passionate about driving financial efficiency and building impactful cross-functional partnerships? We’re seeking a proactive and analytical Expense Business Partner to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you’ll work closely with International Leadership Committee members and various business units to provide insights into the cost base, influence decision-making, and support the achievement of both short-term budgets and long-term cost objectives. Your expertise will be essential in managing and optimising expenses, delivering valuable analysis, and promoting financial discipline to enable strategic growth and meaningful business outcomes
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted partner to all functional teams, providing expert guidance on expense management and cost control initiatives.

Provide exceptional partnering support by translating numbers and data into compelling business insights and storyboards, influencing stakeholders at all levels to support cost management and broader strategic objectives.

Develop and maintain detailed expense budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making.

Challenge expense assumptions to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and policies, while identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across all categories.

Influence leadership and senior stakeholders to embody and embed a cost-conscious culture within their teams, actively managing spend.

Monitor expense KPIs and develop dashboards to track performance against targets. Own and support month-end and year-end closing processes with accurate and timely expense reporting.

Provide comprehensive financial insights and analysis of proposed budgets for senior executives and function leaders, ensuring accountability for delivering cost targets.

Collaborate with finance, procurement, and operational teams to ensure compliance with controls and policies and deliver training on expense policies and best practices.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your skills & experience:
- ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified, with a strong foundation in financial management.

Experience in the insurance or financial services sector, with project or transformation experience in cost management.

Proven expertise in cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, and delivering savings.

Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

Confident presenter, capable of communicating complex information to senior audiences both online and in person.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, engaging effectively at the highest levels of the organisation.

Business and commercial acumen, with a proactive and versatile “can-do” approach.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results with integrity and confidentiality.
