The Cranbrook Bakery is looking to recruit a full-time day bread baker.
As a baker you will be working towards producing the highest-quality baked goods and working amongst a team who strive to give their best performance.
Your duties will include the following: preparation of ingredients, mixing, baking, finishing for cakes, table work for breads/rolls, oven work for breads, packing, and maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the bakery.
We supply baked goods to surrounding farm shops and our own two shops, you will be expected to work with breads, cakes and confectionery.
We are looking for a strong team-player with a passion in baking. Previous experience working in a bakery on mixers, moulders and deck ovens is required.
The working hours will be based on 40 hours per week, so an eight hour shift, with 28 days holiday (including bank holidays). This is based on an eight hour shift with a start time of 10am, finishing at 6pm. We can be flexible on the start time if needed and could move this later or earlier if this would suit a potential candidate better. This position will include rotational weekend work.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a wide range of products including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Monitor the quality of ingredients and ensure they meet food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels of baking supplies.
- Collaborate with other bakery staff to ensure timely production and service of baked goods.
- Stay updated on current baking trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings.
Experience
- Proven experience in a bakery preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen setting.
- Previous experience in baking or food production is highly advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A passion for baking and creativity in developing new recipes is desirable.
