Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a van driver. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, managing warehouse tasks, and maintaining excellent communication with team members and clients. Prior experience in delivery driving around Pembrokeshire is desirable. The position offers an engaging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vans, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are handled with care and secured properly during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Assist with heavy lifting of goods or equipment as required, maintaining proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance reports
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Hours of work are Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:00pm. Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm.
- You will be expected to work longer hours during our busier periods of the year (Easter/Summer holidays, Christmas week and half terms).
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver.
- Valid full driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during deliveries
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations is advantageous
