Vale Bridgecraft Ltd, part of Hampton Furniture Group, has manufactured high-quality upholstered furniture since 1949. We are looking for a skilled Upholstery Sewing Machinist to join our friendly and dedicated production team.
You will be employed by Vale Bridgecraft Ltd at its Mytholmroyd factory, working primarily on upholstery for Zofa, a sister brand within the group. You may occasionally support Vale Bridgecraft and other product ranges as production needs change.
Key Responsibilities
- Sewing upholstery covers and components to a consistently high standard
- Working from patterns, specifications and production instructions
- Operating industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently
- Ensuring excellent stitch quality, seam strength, alignment, pattern matching and finish
- Carrying out quality checks and identifying defects or material issues at an early stage
- Achieving production targets without compromising quality
- Working closely with colleagues across cutting, upholstery and quality control
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area
About You
- A minimum of two years’ experience in upholstery sewing is essential
- Confident using industrial sewing machines
- Able to work accurately from patterns and production instructions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Able to maintain accuracy while meeting production targets
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual
- Flexible and willing to support different product ranges when required
- Positive, professional and comfortable working as part of a team
