## Job Overview
RCFS specialises in providing therapeutic residential care to children and young people aged 5-18. You would play a key part in supporting our team at Rubicon House to understand the impact of the children’s experiences and to support their needs. We are looking for someone who has a passion for improving opportunities for children in care.
The salary offered is based on an FTE basis.
## Responsibilities
The successful applicant will undertake direct clinical work contributing to the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessment, therapy, consultation, and training as appropriate. The successful applicant will also provide dedicated support to Children and Young People and their carers in order to plan appropriate and timely Interventions.
## Qualifications
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of working with children or families.
- Experience of being able to provide specialist assessments, plan programmes of work for individuals or groups, consultations, and training as appropriate.
- Experience of providing therapeutic interventions with parents/carers, children, and families, in particular those who have experienced developmental trauma and loss.
Desirable
- Clinical experience within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in working with children with complex developmental needs and their families.
Skills & Abilities
Essential
- An understanding of other psychological treatment modalities.
- Experience of working with children with complex presentations and risky behaviour.
- Strong understanding of proactive safeguarding.
- The ability to and experience of supporting implementation of new therapeutic approaches within professional teams.
- The confidence to manage challenging dynamics or differing approaches within teams; offering guidance, challenge and supporting consistency.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with carers, children, families, and colleagues.
- Computer literate and able to write comprehensive reports.
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to identify and provide appropriate means of support to carers and staff exposed to distressing situations and challenging behaviour.
- Ability to effectively facilitate group supervision to support staff to process and reflect on the therapeutic support provided and group dynamics.
