Job Summary:
Working closely with to the Process Owner Assembly (Make & Pack, Pick & Pack and Wash & Pack), the Section Manager Production provides overall leadership and coordination while taking financial, operational, and statutory accountability within the section.
Main Duties & Responsibilities

Meets quality KPI’s and internal and external customer expectations.

Aligns section assembly process to defined master production schedule. Maintains Master Production Schedule(MPS).

Responsible for compliance and improvement with the objectives established, daily monitoring of deviations and following up with corrective actions.

Proactively manage team performance and provide development/succession planning opportunities.
- Resolve conflict/provide solutions by exercising high levels of influencing, negotiation and communication skills. Be a role model for the company values.

Creates a positive working environment.

Maintain legal/compliance across health and safety, food safety, Department for Transport (DfT), security, gate OPEX (in-house operational excellence programme).

Define systems of working to ensure quality of product, service to the customer and team progression/development.

Follow company, process and section procedures.

Instigate and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Rotate through different departments/units as reasonably required.

Ability to cover a 7-day operation.
Support with any other reasonable tasks and requests from the management team.

Qualifications:
Education:
-
Degree educated preferred and/or relevant equivalent work experience at similar level
-
Food and hygiene related education/training.
-
Various management training.
-
Desirable specialization in Operational and People Management.
-
Degree educated and/or demonstrable continued professional development at a senior level is preferred.
-
Professional qualification in operations/logistics preferred.
-
Certification or demonstrable experience in Lean six Sigma preferred
Work Experience:
-
Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced Unionised work environment.
-
Previous management experience with a demonstrable track record of leadership within a Food Hygiene/Health & Safety/High Security environment preferred.
-
Experience leading projects and people across organisations and maintaining mandatory standards to ensure the safety of products and processes and to improve product quality required.

Experience with applying lean manufacturing techniques system preferred
