About the Client:
Our client is a tier-1, award-winning M&E building services contractor with a reputation for delivering major commercial, industrial, and public sector engineering packages across the UK and Ireland. Due to several high-value contract wins, they are seeking a driven Mechanical Project Manager to lead on-site execution teams from their Belfast hub.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full operational and commercial ownership of multi-disciplinary mechanical packages from mobilization through to final client handover.
- Manage on-site project programming, track commercial P&L performance, and coordinate resource planning.
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate specialised subcontractors and internal engineering personnel on active construction sites.
- Review and interpret architectural designs, technical schematics, and detailed piping P&IDs to resolve on-site engineering conflicts.
- Ensure strict regulatory compliance with health and safety legislation, site-specific RAMS, and Permit-to-Work systems.
- Manage technical RFIs, material submittals, and compile comprehensive systems turnover documentation for project close-out.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Project Management, or a time-served heavy mechanical trade background.
- 3–5+ years' experience managing site-based commercial mechanical, HVAC, process utility, or piping installation projects.
- Proven capability to run project packages independently, manage budgets, and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Active SMSTS, SSSTS, or equivalent CSR/CSCS Site Supervisor credentials.
- Valid UK driving licence with flexibility for regional site travel.
