At UCL, we are committed to delivering an outstanding education and student experience. Our Education Services department plays a central role in supporting more than 50,000 students by developing and delivering the policies, processes and services that underpin education across the university.
Within Education Services, the Academic Policy, Quality & Standards (APQS) team leads on academic quality assurance and supports the development and maintenance of UCL's academic regulations, policies and procedures. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the university, the team helps ensure that UCL continues to provide an excellent educational experience while meeting external regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team at the heart of UCL's education quality framework.
As the first point of contact for the APQS team, you will provide high-quality administrative support across a broad range of activities. A key responsibility will be managing the administration of approximately 900 External Examiners for UCL's taught programmes, including processing nominations, fees and expenses, responding to enquiries and supporting financial year-end reporting.
Alongside this, you will coordinate meetings, committees, working groups and review visits, provide administrative support to education-related governance activities, maintain and update Education Services web content, and contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes, records management and service delivery. You will also work closely with colleagues across Student and Registry Services, faculties, departments, and other Professional Services teams helping to deliver an efficient, responsive and high-quality service.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to develop your knowledge of higher education quality assurance while making a meaningful contribution to the student experience at one of the world's leading universities.
This role is offered on a full time basis with hybrid working with currently a minimum of 1-day per week onsite at our London Kings Cross offices (subject to change).
Please note, this role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
If you have any queries about the role, please contact Siobhan Fitzgerald at: [email protected]

You will be an experienced administrator with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Ideally, you will have experience of working within a higher or further education environment and be confident managing high-volume administrative processes. Experience of financial administration, organising meetings or committees, and using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, will enable you to thrive in this role. Experience of supporting quality assurance activities or knowledge of student information systems such as SITS would be advantageous.
You'll be an effective communicator who enjoys building positive working relationships with colleagues and providing clear, professional advice to a wide range of stakeholders. Most importantly, you'll bring a proactive, helpful and customer-focused approach, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, a willingness to learn new skills and a commitment to delivering an excellent service within a large and complex organisation.
