The Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Animal Care Assistant or 2nd Year Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN) to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal welfare, enjoys working in a busy clinical environment, and is keen to develop their skills within a supportive practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional care to hospitalised patients.
- Assisting veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses during consultations and procedures.
- Preparing and maintaining consulting rooms, theatre, and clinical areas.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining equipment to a high standard.
- Monitoring patient wellbeing and reporting any concerns.
- Assisting with patient restraint and handling.
- Supporting reception duties when required, including welcoming clients and answering telephone enquiries.
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
- Stock management and general housekeeping duties.
About You
We would love to hear from applicants who:
- Are an experienced Animal Care Assistant or a 2nd Year Student Veterinary Nurse enrolled with an approved training provider.
- Have excellent animal handling skills.
- Are caring, compassionate, and patient.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Have strong communication and organisational skills.
- Remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Are committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care.
