We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Information Governance Officer to join our growing Information Governance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in data protection, records management, information governance or compliance who wants to develop their career within the NHS.
Working alongside the Information Governance Manager, Data Governance Lead, Data Protection Officer and wider governance teams, you will help ensure the organisation meets its statutory obligations and maintains high standards of information governance, confidentiality and data protection.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advice and guidance on Information Governance, data protection and records management.
Support compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Caldicott Principles and NHS information governance requirements.
- Review and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Information Sharing Agreements and other governance documentation.
- Assist in the investigation and management of data security incidents and confidentiality breaches.
- Support responses to Subject Access Requests and other individual rights requests where required.
- Assist with the maintenance and review of Information Governance policies, procedures and guidance.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to promote best practice in the management and protection of information.
As an Information Governance Officer, you will provide specialist advice and support across a range of information governance functions. You will help staff understand their responsibilities, support projects through privacy assessments, investigate incidents and contribute to a culture where information is used safely, securely and effectively.
The role offers significant variety and the opportunity to work with colleagues across operational, clinical and corporate services.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
