To provide high-quality personal care and support to residents, promoting dignity, independence, choice, and wellbeing at all times. To assist residents with their physical, emotional, and social needs in accordance with their individual care plans and organisational policies.
Duties
- Assist residents with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support residents with mobility and transferring using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Assist residents with eating and drinking where required.
- Promote independence and encourage residents to undertake tasks for themselves whenever possible.
Health and Wellbeing
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or mental wellbeing.
- Assist with monitoring and recording information as directed.
- Support residents to attend appointments and activities as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Care Planning and Record Keeping
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records.
- Report concerns, incidents, accidents, and safeguarding issues promptly.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- Support residents' rights, privacy, and choices.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Use moving and handling equipment safely and appropriately.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Attend mandatory training and maintain required competencies.
General Duties
- Work collaboratively as part of the care team.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and training.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Desirable
- Previous experience in a care setting.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Knowledge of safeguarding, dementia care, and infection control.
- Experience supporting older people or vulnerable adults.
Working Conditions
- Shift work including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
- Frequent moving and handling activities.
- Direct contact with residents requiring personal care and support.
