Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Agent with a strong background in heavy civils and reinforced concrete structures to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with Tier One contractors on complex civil engineering schemes and possess a strong understanding of site operations, programme delivery, quality assurance, and health & safety compliance.
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring excellent coordination, technical, and leadership capabilities across multidisciplinary construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day site operations on heavy civil engineering projects.
- Oversee reinforced concrete works including foundations, retaining structures, slabs, walls, culverts, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and site management.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Prepare and manage RAMS, ITPs, permits, and short-term programmes.
- Monitor site progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour to ensure efficient delivery of works.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support commercial teams with progress reporting, variations, and change management.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience as a Site Agent or Civil Engineering Agent on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in heavy civils and reinforced concrete construction.
- Previous experience working for Tier One contractors is essential.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams on complex projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and construction delivery processes.
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred.
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor certification advantageous.
