What You'll Be Doing
As an Agency Chemotherapy Nurse, you will:
- Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) treatments.
- Assess patients before, during, and after treatment to ensure safe delivery of care.
- Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions, responding promptly and effectively.
- Cannulate patients and manage central venous access devices, including PICC lines, Hickman lines, and Port-a-Caths.
- Deliver compassionate care and provide education and reassurance to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with local policies and NMC standards.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across a variety of healthcare settings.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and best clinical practice at all times.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Adult Nurse (RN).
- A recognised Chemotherapy/SACT administration qualification.
- Recent experience administering chemotherapy within an NHS or private hospital setting.
- Competence in venepuncture, cannulation, and central line management.
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly to different hospital environments.
- A professional, compassionate, and patient-centred approach to care.
