Overview
Join our team as a Cleaner at the Threave Visitor Centre in Castle Douglas, working during evening hours to ensure a spotless, welcoming environment for visitors and staff alike. This vital role offers an energetic opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of a popular destination, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We clean here every night of the week and require someone to join our team specifically to cover weekend shifts
This will be a minimum of 6 hours, up to 9 hours per week over the three evenings specified.
Due to the location a car is required for this post.
Competitive rates of pay, travel allowance, pension, and uniform can be provided.
Full training will be given.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of visitor areas, Toilets and public spaces during evening shifts
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning equipment and products
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls to ensure smooth daily operations
- Follow health and safety guidelines to handle cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly
- Conduct routine inspections to identify areas needing extra attention or maintenance
- Ensure all waste is properly disposed of and recycling protocols are followed
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management for swift resolution
Experience
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safe chemical handling practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during evening hours
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts
