PREMISES OFFICER / CARETAKER
Location: Croydon, South London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent employment

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hands-on Premises Officer / Caretaker to join a school in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the premises, ensuring the site is clean, safe, secure and fully operational for pupils, staff and visitors.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the general upkeep and security of the school premises, carrying out routine inspections and responding to maintenance requirements as they arise.
Your responsibilities will include opening and securing the school site, carrying out general maintenance and repairs, monitoring the condition of buildings and grounds, setting up rooms and facilities, managing deliveries and supporting contractors when required.
You will also ensure that health and safety, fire safety and safeguarding procedures are followed and report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and proactive, with a strong understanding of general premises and caretaking duties.
Previous experience working as a Caretaker, Premises Officer, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative, Site Assistant or in a similar role would be highly desirable.
You should be confident carrying out basic maintenance tasks, identifying potential issues and working independently to keep the site running smoothly.
Experience within a school or educational environment would be advantageous, although candidates with strong facilities, maintenance or property experience will also be considered.

A professional and approachable manner when dealing with staff, pupils, visitors and contractors
