Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative
About the Role
We are recruiting a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep and presentation of public open spaces, parks, and communal areas.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role ideal for someone who enjoys working outside and takes pride in maintaining high standards across green spaces.
What You'll Be Doing
- Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
- Strimming and edging lawns and pathways
- Hedge trimming and shrub maintenance
- Weeding, planting, and general horticultural tasks
- Litter picking and maintaining clean public areas
- Assisting with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance
- Using tools and machinery safely and in line with health & safety procedures
- Supporting other members of the grounds team as required
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or similar outdoor work
- Ability to operate basic grounds maintenance equipment
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Good awareness of health & safety practices
Desirable:
- Experience using ride-on mowers or strimmers
- Previous local authority or estate maintenance experience
- Relevant horticultural qualification
