Working hours: 7:00am–4:00pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Job Description:
OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for clearing/delivering/recycling goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to our clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and logistics, looking to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. A valid driver licence is essential, along with experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver or recycle goods in various locations within the designated area. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain vehicle safety and compliance.
- Assist with loading and unloading, utilising warehouse experience to handle goods efficiently and safely.
- Communicate effectively with the office and clients regarding job schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Maintain accurate records of jobs, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Ensure the security of loads during transit.
Requirements
- Proven experience in driving, particularly in a similar role involving commercial driving.
- Valid driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Experience operating flatbed vehicles or similar large transport equipment preferred.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for handling goods efficiently during loading and unloading processes.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating organisation and time management skills.
