About the role:
We are currently recruiting Support Workers to be based in one of our Swansea homes. This is a Residential Home for up to Two Children and young people with various diagnosis of ASD, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and Mental Health complexities
Reporting to your house Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery and recording of the relevant personal development sessions within the home. Your will provide personalised care to each child/young person in their daily activities including personal care. Your priority will be to provide a positive and inclusive environment ensuring the emotional and physical well being of each child is paramount. You will promote independence, self esteem and confidence in our young people, celebrating their achievements and milestones.
You will be constantly learning and developing while making a tangible difference to the lives of the young people we support. We require our staff to be compassionate and caring with a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Excellent communications skills is of the upmost importance in order to build not only a healthy relationship with the people we care for but also to build an incredibly strong work force to maintain our already high levels of care.
Your will be required to be flexible to work on a shift basis, including weekends and nights shifts.

Essential experience and qualifications:
You will be required to register with Social care Wales and work towards QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People. (Costs covered by us)
You will be a team player with a strong personality and be enthusiastic and passionate about providing a high standard of quality care which meets individual young people’s needs while being a positive role-model to support others to make positive life-choices. We require you to be compassionate at all times in order to create and maintain the nurturing environment we provide.
Desirable experience and qualifications:
You will hold a full, clean and current Driving Licence with Business Vehicle Insurance and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word
You will have experience in meeting the safeguarding needs of vulnerable people, have a proven track record in maintaining a safe living and working environment, be able to demonstrate that you can adhere to all policies and procedures as set out by an employer.
Social Care Wales Registration (Desirable)
QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People. (Desirable)
Remuneration:
At Salus Care Wales, all care staff work on a rota system that includes days, waking-nights, sleep-ins and weekends.
