We’re looking for someone who brings strong horticultural experience, alongside a positive and approachable attitude that will help strengthen and enhance the team.
The Role:
Working closely with our Plants Team Manager, you’ll help with the day-to-day running of the department and step in to support and guide the team when needed. You’ll be involved in everything from plant care and display work through to customer advice and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a full-time role and includes some weekend working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily running of the Plants department alongside the Manager
- Use your plant knowledge to help maintain healthy, well-presented stock and seasonal displays
- Carry out all aspects of plant care including watering, feeding, pruning, repotting, and general maintenance
- Help create attractive, inspiring displays that reflect the season and our standards
- Receive and process deliveries, ensuring stock is handled and presented correctly
- Offer warm, confident, and knowledgeable advice to customers
- Help maintain a welcoming, well-presented environment for customers and the team
- Support colleagues, leading by example and contributing to a positive team atmosphere
About You:
- Essential: Strong plant knowledge and understanding of plant care, species, and growing conditions
- Previous experience in a garden centre or horticultural environment is highly desirable
- Someone who enjoys working with people as much as working with plants
- Warm, approachable, and confident when speaking with customers
- A genuine team player who helps create a supportive and positive working environment
- Organised, reliable, and able to work well in a busy, fast-moving setting
- Physically fit and happy with active, outdoor work in all weather

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
