Job Title: Business Development Manager

Purpose of the Job
An experienced, high-energy and target-driven Business Development Manager to work with our Commercial delivery and Marketing teams to deliver agreed commercial activity across Aspire 2Be core revenue streams: Digital Skills, Micro-credentials, Short Courses and LMS.
The role is responsible for building employer and partner relationships, developing new business opportunities, managing pipeline activity and achieving monthly engagement, sales and revenue targets. The postholder will provide clear updates to the Managing Director and Sales Director, with a practical focus on KPIs, conversion activity and progress against agreed commercial priorities.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Deliver agreed commercial activity across Aspire 2Be core revenue streams: Digital Skills, Micro-credentials, Short Courses and LMS.
- Work with Commercial delivery and Marketing teams to translate agreed priorities into practical sales activity, campaigns and outreach.
- Develop new business through a range of sales techniques, including face-to-face meetings, telesales, networking, social media and partner engagement.
- Work with employers and partners to identify needs and requirements, recognising opportunities for account growth, cross-selling and repeat business.
- Achieve agreed sales, engagement and pipeline KPIs, with a clear focus on revenue generation and conversion.
- Maintain accurate pipeline data and provide regular updates on sales activity, opportunities, revenue forecasts and risks.
- Analyse sales activity and conversion performance, identifying trends and proposing practical actions to improve results.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial activity aligns with delivery capacity, quality expectations and learner or client requirements.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the competitive landscape across digital skills, short course provision, micro-credentials and LMS solutions.
- Attend relevant employer, partner and sector events to promote Aspire 2Be and develop new commercial relationships.
- Conduct market research to identify target sectors, client needs, competitors and emerging commercial opportunities.

Essential Criteria
- Business development or commercial delivery experience within a training provider, higher education, further education or closely aligned learning and skills context.
- Experience of generating commercial opportunities linked to one or more core revenue streams: Digital Skills, Micro-credentials, Short Courses, LMS or digital learning solutions.
- Experienced sales professional with demonstrable success in achieving or exceeding targets and KPIs.
- Proven track record in business development, employer engagement, partnership development or network growth.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, conversion activity and reporting metrics.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise activity and manage competing commercial deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging employers, partners and senior stakeholders.
- Digitally competent and confident, with the ability to use CRM systems, Microsoft Office and relevant digital tools effectively.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently while contributing positively to wider team priorities.
- Ability to align to the strong values base of the company.

Full UK Driving Licence with Business Cover Insurance (A copy of your insurance will be requested upon offer)
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in learning and development sales, ideally with a focus on digital skills, short courses, work-based learning, micro-credentials or LMS solutions.
- Experience of working with employers, colleges, universities, public sector organisations or training providers.
- Experience of B2B sales and developing senior stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge of funded skills delivery, apprenticeships, Bootcamps or wider employability provision.
- Welsh speaker.
