Due to the relocation of our current chef, we are now seeking a new chef to join our team.
Are you passionate about creating delicious and nutritious meals for children in a warm and nurturing environment? Head Start Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team. At Golden Apples, we believe in providing a second home for children, where they feel safe, valued, and nourished through wholesome meals prepared with care and creativity.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children following specified menus and dietary/allergy guidelines.
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Uphold very high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste to promote healthy eating habits among children.
- Contribute to menu planning by suggesting creative and appealing dishes that align with our commitment to providing a diverse range of nutritious options.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Chef in a kitchen setting, preferably in a childcare or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment operation, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in managing food production processes efficiently.
- Passion for hospitality and creating meals that are not only nutritious but also engaging for children.
- Certification in food safety and knowledge of relevant regulations.
