New Directions Education is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work within Resource Provisions across Leeds.
These specialist provisions support pupils with a range of additional needs while allowing them to benefit from mainstream school environments. As an SEN Teaching Assistant within a Resource Provision, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and moderate learning difficulties.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning plans.
- Assist pupils in accessing both specialist provision activities and mainstream classroom learning where appropriate.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
- Help develop pupils’ communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
– Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
– A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
– Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
– The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a busy school environment.
– A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
– A commitment to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
Experience in SEN schools, resource provisions, mainstream education, childcare, care settings, or support work would be highly beneficial.
