Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Contractor – Social Housing (Northwest London)
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Contractors to support a busy social housing contract across Northwest London. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in property maintenance, who can work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work across various trades.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring that homes are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a long-term contract, contributing to the improvement of local housing and community living standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide variety of repairs and maintenance work across occupied and void social housing properties (e.g. plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating).
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and scopes of work to complete installations and repairs effectively.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment in line with all health and safety guidelines.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from tenants, housing officers, or site supervisors.
- Supervise or mentor junior staff or apprentices where required, providing guidance and oversight.
- Liaise with the office and other departments to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar multi-trade role within social housing or property maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand scopes of work, job sheets, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience supervising small teams or apprentices is an advantage.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a professional and respectful approach to tenants and colleagues.
- Must have own tools, valid CSCS card (preferred), and full driving licence.
