The Opportunity
Powerlec Electrical and Testing Ltd is a growing electrical contractor working across domestic, commercial and light-industrial properties throughout Essex and the wider South East. We are looking for an experienced electrician who takes pride in safe, high-quality work and represents the company professionally. Our work includes installation, testing, fault-finding, remedials, Solar PV and EV charging.
What you'll be doing
- Complete installations, alterations, EICRs, remedials and electrical certification to a high standard.
- Diagnose faults and carry out inspection and testing independently.
- Work professionally on domestic, commercial and light-industrial sites, including schools and occupied premises.
- Liaise with customers, site managers and the Powerlec team while maintaining accurate paperwork.
- Support Solar PV and EV charging projects, with further training available where required.
What we're looking for
- Level 3 electrical installation qualification, NVQ Level 3 and AM2, or recognised equivalents.
- Current 18th Edition qualification.
- Inspection and testing qualification such as City & Guilds 2391, or equivalent.
- Strong recent experience completing EICRs, certification, remedial works and fault-finding without close supervision.
- A full UK driving licence and a professional, dependable and customer-focused approach.
- Preferred: ECS Gold Card and experience with Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, commercial installations or supervising others.
What we offer
- £44,000-£52,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

- Site requirements
- Some client sites operate drug and alcohol testing. Appointment is subject to the appropriate DBS, right-to-work, qualification, reference and driving-licence checks.
Pay: £44,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
