Support Worker
Location: Belfast (BT15)
Salary: £25,394.88 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week (rota basis including mornings, evenings, weekends and waking nights)
About the Role
Our Client is recruiting for a Support Worker to join a residential service supporting adults experiencing homelessness and alcohol dependency.
Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred support using a housing-led, harm reduction approach. You will help service users develop independent living skills, access housing and healthcare services, and work towards achieving positive, long-term outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to service users on a daily basis.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, laundry and maintaining living spaces.
- Support service users to engage with personalised support plans and achieve their individual goals.
- Carry out reception duties, wellbeing checks and building safety checks.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and client documentation.
- Promote a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
- Work closely with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety and organisational policies at all times.
Essential Criteria
- 3 GCSEs (Grade A–C), including English and Maths (or equivalent).
- At least 1 year's paid relevant experience or 2 years' relevant voluntary experience.
- Understanding of homelessness, addiction and the challenges faced by vulnerable adults.
- Good communication, IT and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and health & safety practices.
- Ability to work a flexible rota, including mornings, evenings, weekends and waking nights.
- Enhanced Access NI check and NISCC registration (or willingness to obtain).
