Who we are?
Welcome to Projects Group, part of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) - we are responsible for ensuring the organisation has firm foundations to successfully develop and deliver a large, complex and technically diverse portfolio of capital and revenue projects and programmes across Greater Manchester - on time, within budget and with the customer at the heart of what we do.
Our extensive portfolio of projects and programmes covers a significant number of areas within the different modes of transport infrastructure throughout Greater Manchester including Bus infrastructure, Metrolink, Rail, Electrification, Interchanges, Zero Emissions, Clean Air, Active Travel and Business Change just to name a few!
About the role?
As a Project Management Apprentice, you will benefit from combined practical on the job training opportunities as well as theoretical learning & development. You’ll work alongside other project professionals and gain hands-on experience and opportunities to get involved with exciting and large-scale projects.
You will join a team with a supportive and positive culture where you will receive coaching from experienced project professionals with structured training and development. You may also be given responsibility for managing small projects, or designated tasks as part of larger projects, such as producing documentation to obtain necessary internal and external approvals, preparing change request proposals, preparing project update presentations and/ or establishing effective arrangements with Stakeholders to communicate the progress of projects.
You will complete a Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship, gain a professional qualification (APM Project Management Qualification - https://www.apm.org.uk/qualifications-and-training/) and as part of this you can become a student member of the Association for Project Management (APM).

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following criteria and core attributes:
You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above in Maths, English and a Science subject and 2 A levels equivalent to64 UCAS points or above.
You will have a positive impact and successfully engage and contribute to your project teams, through being a strong team player, with equal ability to work effectively on your own initiative, without close supervision.
You will have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and be able to work to tight deadlines both on your own and as part of a team.
You will have great communication skills and be able to positively engage, interact and build relationships with key stakeholders at varying levels building rapport, trust and confidence
You will be able to produce high quality work to tight deadlines, who are self-motivated with a desire to achieve results.

This is hybrid role where you will be expected to work in the office and/or onsite a minimum of 2 days per week.
In line with the apprenticeship guidelines, to be eligible for this apprenticeship any previous qualifications or experienceyou have cannot be similar or the same to the qualification you would achieve from this apprenticeship.

We are looking for 4 full-time roles (37 hours per week) on a 2-year fixed term contract with a salary of £28,428 per annum
