To shape, lead and, working with others, deliver the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ (IChemE) policy agenda and priorities, and influencing decision makers (including government, Parliament, Parliamentarians, public stakeholders and industry).
This role delivers policy activity that must be visible to IChemE's members and non-members, including publications, events, media engagement and expert convening, while building the relationships and credibility that enable IChemE to influence decision-makers on issues of strategic importance.
This role is key to IChemE’s ambitions to be a trusted advisor to government, Parliamentarians and others on issues where chemical and process engineering has a distinctive voice, alongside collaborating with other organisations on issues of common interest.
- Proven ability to build and manage strategic partnerships with policymakers, government bodies, Parliamentarians, academic institutions, employers, members, and industry stakeholders in a policy context.

Experience developing, implementing and monitoring effectiveness of policy communication strategies in order to raise the profile and impact of an organisation's policy activity.

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to identify, develop and maintain influential networks across the UK and internationally.

Experience developing and delivering policy positions, briefings and recommendations that are technically robust and aligned to organisational objectives.

Ability to engage and harness expert input from members, committees, special interest groups and wider professional communities to inform policy development.

Experience managing people, budgets and KPIs.
Due to IChemE’s international nature, this position requires a willingness to work flexibly and to sometimes engage in business discussions outside of normal working hours.
The position is based in the UK with flexible working arrangements, meaning you will usually be working three days from the London office and the remainder from home.

This is a permanent, full-time role based on 37.5 hours per week working Monday through to Friday.
Starting salary will be £51,000 - £57,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits which includes an excellent pension scheme.
